Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer: 10 and 30-hr. Construction and General Industry. English and Spanish. Certified Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor. Mechanical Engineer. Personal Experience working in: Residential Construction, Manufacturing, Facilities, Power Plants, Engineering/Management in Commercial Construction, Confined Spaces, Lockout, Fall Protection, (Harnesses), Lifts, Ladders, Respirators, PPE. Safety Trainer/Consultant since 2007 working with Construction and Manufacturing companies in over 30 states and in Mexico. Steve conducted his first training (in Spanish) for a Cement company across Northern Mexico in 2002. Since then he has conducted 100‘s of safety trainings for 1000’s of people in construction and manufacturing companies in over 30 states across the U.S., often for companies who have experienced a fatality. Steve is a Mechanical Engineer who worked in the field as an Energy Engineer for 3 international companies on design-build projects before becoming a Safety Trainer/Consultant in 2007. That work experience brought him to Mexico and once to Europe. He spent the rest of his time as a Field Engineer working in New England on projects such as power plants and other energy system upgrades at navy bases, college campuses, hospitals and other industrial facilities. Steve also has experience in residential construction as a landscaper and painter prior to his work as a field engineer. He considers it an honor and a privilege to facilitate safety training and help companies improve their safety culture, as it is his passion. In addition to the OSHA 10-hr Outreach Training and the compliance topics listed above, Steve provides a wide scope of supervisor and safety & health management training where he shows people at all levels of an organization the best practices for creating a positive safety culture that values safety no matter what the circumstances and fosters teamwork instead of backbiting and gossip! Steve is mentored by and indebted to Fred D. Rine, the former FedEx Safety Director (’80 - ’92) and current owner of FDR Safety LLC. So much of Steve’s experience and insight as to what it takes to create a great safety culture has been imparted by Fred and his team.
